About Me
I’m Sam, a video games marketing specialist with 8+ years of experience in social media, public relations, influencer marketing, advertising, and community-led growth. I’ve worked for international game developers, studios, and publishers, both as an in-house expert and an external consultant.
I’ve designed and executed social media & PR strategies, influencer marketing actions, and various launch actions for games across multiple platforms, helping studios find their players, create an engaged community, and build meaningful long-term relationships with them.
Video games have always been more than entertainment to me. They have given me hope, inspiration, and a sense of belonging in difficult times. I’m proud to say that legendary franchises such as Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy made me the kind and courageous person I am today. Working with them is my way of saying “thank you” for so many good memories and lessons.
For me, games are one of the purest forms of art and the most exciting medium for immersive storytelling.
The road so far...
I’ve worked primarily with indie games, supporting passionate solo devs and small teams along the way. Occasionally, thanks to my role at Jaleo PR, I had the chance to work for AA studios and publishing companies too. A lot has happened since then, but I still smile to think that we left our mark on the mighty Dyson Sphere Program, a sci-fi construction game by Youthcat Studio and Gamera Game.
From its Kickstarter campaign to the first months in Early Access, we were in charge of its campaign structure, the updates for backers, social media strategy, teaser editing and PR work. Since it’s my area of expertise, I personally took care of all things related to social media management on Twitter, Facebook, Reddit and Discord. My journey with Dyson was a once in a lifetime experience, for sure.
Overall, working with Chinese publishers and game studios changed me personally and profesionally. I’ll never forget how The Rewinder (Misty Mountain Studio), Amazing Cultivation Simulator (GSQ Games) and Immortal Life (YiFang Studio) opened up the world of Taoist fantasy to me. I’ve been obsessed with Chinese culture and Mo Xiang Tong Xiu’s novels ever since!
In 2024, I got involved in a 5 days-long live event at Gamescom 2024. Together with Games From Spain, a public initiative to promote Spanish companies in the game industry abroad, I managed several aspects of their first-ever stage in Hall 10.2 (E039). This job involved proposing and coordinating activities, supervising the shows and assisting the technical team during livestreams. Watch all the activities here.
Please check out the one below first, as it’s the most important panel discussion I’ve moderated to date! Once again, thanks to The Game Kitchen, Vermila Studios, and Bowl of Tentacles for participating.
From time to time, I enjoy livestreaming for my tiny Spanish-speaking community on Twitch. I’m a big fan of the Yakuza series (Ryū Ga Gotoku) and Persona (Atlus), so these games are the basis of my content, along with some horror/romance visual novels and graphic adventures.
What's next?
Anime has been an important part of my life since I can remember. In my spare time, I’m conducting my own research on visual novels. In addition to playing both classic titles and new releases, I like to study their cultural impact, marketing strategy (social media, Steam, ads, etc) and market performance. Such valuable knowledge will help me work more effectively with dev teams that specialize in this type of text-based adventures.
The visual novels I have worked on so far:
- Pro-Philosopher 2: Debating sim. Social ads campaign across Meta, TikTok and Reddit Ads during pre-launch and launch.
- Chromatic Memories: Cozy / Spanish folklore. Pre-release and release paid campaign on Meta and TikTok.
- Chrono Jotter: Yuri / Psychological horror. Steam page editing (EN) and promotion from 2P Games’ social profiles.
- [Cancelled] One Spirit: Alternate post-WWII Europe / Coming-of-age drama. Steam page, social media strategy, teaser scripting and editing, and Kickstarter campaign management.
In 2025, I also lived a short but very educational adventure in the world of self-published eroge games. However, that’s a story for another time… Feel free to ask for some juicy secrets! 😉
Famous titles like Higurashi no Naku Koro ni (07th Expansion), Raging Loop (Kemco), Persona 4 and the Ace Attorney series are some of my favorite visual novels ever. My biggest professional dream now is working on similar projects, either as a marketing specialist, publisher… or developer! So I’ll do my best to make it come true.
